I/ Working days or business days?

The platform calculates leave according to the leave counting method configured for your team: working days or business days. This setting applies to all collaborators within the team.

Working days

Business days

Correspond to the days usually worked (Monday to Friday).

Correspond to business days (generally Monday to Saturday).

One full week of leave usually counts as 5 days.

One full week of leave usually counts as 6 days.

⚠️ Important: If your team uses business days, each collaborator must be assigned to a week structure to ensure leave is calculated correctly.

II/ What are working week structure used for?

A week structure defines the days a collaborator usually works. The platform uses this information to calculate leave accurately.

Week structure are particularly useful for:

  • part-time collaborators

  • alternative work schedules

  • collaborators who do not all work on the same days.

For example, a collaborator who does not work on Wednesdays can be assigned to a different week structure from the rest of the team.

👉 Week structure can be configured from Settings > Time > Week  structure.

👉 To learn how to create or edit a week structure, see the article How to Create Custom Weeks for Collaborators?

💡 Good to know:

  • each collaborator can only be assigned to one working structure

  • the same working structure can be assigned to multiple collaborators.

III/ Configure a 6-day working structure

💡 If your team uses business days to calculate leave, an additional step is required when creating the working structure.

To do this:

  1. Temporarily select Sunday in your week strcuture.

  2. The "Manual active days" field appears: enter 6.

  3. Activate "Enable Daily limits".

  4. Enter 8 hours from Monday to Friday and 0 hours for Saturday and Sunday.

  5. Save the week structure.

  6. Edit the week structure.

  7. Uncheck Sunday (the value 6 will remain saved even after Sunday is unchecked).

  8. Save the week structure again.

This setup allows the platform to correctly calculate leave using business days, while keeping Sunday as a non-working day in the week structure.

💡 Good to know: don't forget to assign your collaborators to the newly created week structure.

🎉 You now understand how working days, business days, and week structures affect leave calculations.
